A great act of service begins with a simple question: “How can we help?”
For the Rotary Club of Sta. Lucia Novaliches, this question inspired Legacy in Action: Tulong Zambales, a mission to bring hope to disaster-affected families. What began as a small “barkada mission” initiated by TLP Erna “Jing” Montegrande through the Legacy Dancerist Chat Group grew into a district- wide movement when DS Jon Peter Ferrer asked, “Gusto n’yo ba maging district-wide?”
On September 13, 2026, Rotary clubs of District 3780, led by the Rotary Club of Sta. Lucia Novaliches, joined the Rotary Club of Iba, local Rotary clubs from District 3790, the San Marcelino LGU, Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, Rotaractors, and volunteers in bringing assistance to Barangay Sta. Fe, San Marcelino, Zambales. Despite challenging roads and weather, they reached families in need.
The mission provided food packs and hygiene kits to 976 families, while 2,700 individuals received burgers and drinks.
Beyond these numbers were grateful smiles and the reassurance that no community stands alone in times of hardship. From one club’s initiative, 44 clubs united to bring comfort, dignity, and hope.
Tulong Zambales proved that “Service Above Self” transforms collective compassion into a lasting legacy—one community, one act of kindness, and one shared purpose at a time.
